Born 1980 in West-Berlin has spend his youth in Basel (Switzerland) and has studied Media Theory, Musicology and Philosophy at the University of Basel (M.A.). Since 2007 he lives and works in Berlin.
Miyazaki is interested in the epistemology, archeology, history and theory of everyday technologies, which store, transmit and process informations and their dynamic relation to sound, noise and rhythm. He is as well active as an conceptual and transmedial artist creating epistemic devices and opensource software.
In Febuary 2012, he successfully defended his PhD-Thesis at Humboldt University Berlin at the Chair for Media Theory. From 2011-2012 he was a resident fellow at Akademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart, Germany. Since 2010 together with Jan Thoben, he organizes a lectures series in Berlin called “Osciallation Series – Sonic Theories and Practices”.
